At Mediclinics<\/strong>, we understand that sustainability <\/strong>is not just a law to comply with or a passing trend, but a corporate responsibility<\/strong> at all levels and a commitment to future generations<\/strong>. That\u2019s why we have taken a steady step creating the Sustainability Department<\/strong>, which will be responsible for integrating environmental criteria applicable to Mediclinics across all areas of our organization and our value chain.<\/p>\n

How do we consolidate our environmental commitment?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

For us, it\u2019s not just about complying with current regulations, but about anticipating the demands of the market, our clients, and all other stakeholders, constantly improving our environmental performance<\/strong>. One of the first actions carried out has been the development of our new Environmental Sustainability Policy<\/strong>, a document that will set out the framework, commitments and objectives guiding our evolution toward an even more efficient and responsible business model<\/strong> aligned with the environmental challenges we\u2019re facing.<\/p>\n

What role does the circular economy play in our business model?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

We are committed to a sustainability built from within, through concrete actions that reduce our environmental impact<\/strong> without compromising the quality<\/strong>, durability<\/strong> or innovation<\/strong> that define our products. Within this context, the circular economy<\/strong> and responsible waste management<\/strong> become central pillars of our company: we aim to prevent waste from ending up in landfills or incinerators, and instead, focus on recovery and recycling<\/strong> as a way to reintroduce these materials into the value chain as new raw materials.<\/p>\n

What actions are we taking to close the loop?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

To bring this vision to life, we\u2019ve defined a series of actions that aim to maximize recovery and recycling<\/strong>, minimizing packaging impact, reducing paper consumption, and extending the lifetime of our electronic products. We prioritize the use of recycled raw materials<\/strong> and ensure that our products\u2019 components can be reintegrated into the production cycle. We also promote an efficient internal waste management<\/strong>, ensuring proper separation at the source, and we work with authorized waste managers to guarantee proper waste recovery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How do we address our carbon footprint?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Another of our strategic pillars is the calculation and reduction of our carbon footprint<\/strong>. We believe that you can only improve what you know, which is why we\u2019ve started by calculating our Scope 1 (direct) and Scope 2 (indirect from electricity consumption) emissions, with the aim of getting familiar with the structure, procedures and key indicators. But we won\u2019t stop there: our commitment <\/strong>is clear, and we\u2019re actively working to expand the calculation to Scope 3 (other indirect emissions) as soon as possible, so we can fully understand the impact of our operations and supply chain in order to act with greater precision and responsibility.<\/p>\n

And what about energy efficiency?<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Aligned with our sustainability commitment<\/strong>, we are also exploring new ways to enhance the energy efficiency<\/strong> of our processes and facilities. This includes implementing more efficient technologies<\/strong>, optimizing our production systems and adopting practices to reduce overall energy consumption<\/strong>. We have the example of the new generation of hand dryers<\/strong><\/a>, which, compared to conventional hand dryers, reduce energy consumption by 95\u201397% and greenhouse gas emissions by 83\u201391%.<\/p>\n

All in all, at Mediclinics <\/strong>we\u2019re evolving towards a more responsible business model<\/strong><\/a>, combining innovation and efficiency<\/strong> with a<\/strong> strong commitment to environmental protection<\/strong>. We\u2019re aware that sustainability is not a one-time goal, but a continuous journey that demands consistency, strategic vision and real commitment.<\/p>\n
